What's Included
The Ventus model is simple: you pay for the drapery, and everything from the first visit to the last adjustment comes with it. No hidden fees, no installation charge, no surprises after the project.
Before You Book
In the trade, "drapery" (or "drapes") usually means lined, floor-length fabric panels with a structured header such as pinch pleat. "Curtains" are lighter and often unlined, like a rod pocket sheer. Off the shelf, both come in a few standard lengths. Custom drapes and custom curtains from Ventus are cut to your exact window and ceiling height, with the fabric, lining, header and hardware chosen for the room. So the name matters less than how the panel should hang and how much light it should block.
The header style — pinch pleat, grommet top, rod pocket, back tab, or ring ready — sets the overall character of the drape. Pinch pleat is the most tailored and traditional. Grommet top reads modern and operates smoothly across a rod. Rod pocket has a soft, casual gathering. Back tab gives a clean, uninterrupted fall from rod to floor. Ring ready works with decorative drapery rings for a refined finish. At your consultation, we show you each header in person and discuss which suits your room's architecture and your existing furnishings.
The most common professional specifications are: a "kiss" (drape just touches the floor), a "break" (drape rests with a slight bunching on the floor — currently the most popular look), or a "puddle" (4–8 inches of fabric pools on the floor, a more traditional, opulent choice). Floating hems that stop above the floor look unintentional and date a room quickly, so we generally steer clients toward a kiss or light break unless a puddle is specifically desired. We measure to your preferred length precisely.
Absolutely, and we recommend it for many rooms. Layering soft drapery over functional shades or blinds gives you both the precise light control of the shade and the warmth, softness, and finished look of drapery. Many of our clients add drapery to rooms where they already have roller shades, cellular shades, or shutters from previous projects.

We bring the fabric books to your consultation and show a short, curated selection based on your style, light and budget, rather than everything at once.
Yes. Rods, finials, brackets, rings, and all hardware are sourced, supplied, and installed by our team as part of the service. You don't need to shop separately for hardware, and the rod style is chosen to complement the fabric and header style at your consultation.
